Lifts are governed by the German industrial safety ordinance: recurring inspections by approved bodies, an emergency call system, a designated responsible person. At the same time, lift maintenance contracts are often long-term and opaque. We check both.
What we look for
- Deadlines for main and interim inspections by the approved body
- Function of emergency call and rescue concept
- Scope and response times in the maintenance contract
- Fault statistics and downtime
- Billing of repairs against the maintenance flat fee
